She had a zest for life and loved traveling, cooking, and enjoying games with her granddaughters. She is survived by her husband, Sheldon; a daughter and son-in-law; a son and daughter-in-law; two granddaughters; and a sister. Peter M. Taft ’67, of La Mesa, Calif.; Apr. sixteen, of pancreatic cancer. After completion of his internship at UC San Diego University Hospital, he served two years as a basic medical officer on the Naval Communication Station in Sidi Yahia, Morocco. Upon returning to San Diego, he accomplished his surgical residency then joined the department of surgery at Kaiser Permanente. He had an almost 30-year general and vascular surgical apply in addition to serving three terms as chief of the department.
After PWC, he served as Chief Information Officer for the Los Angeles County Community College District, for the Los Angeles Unified School District, and later for the State of Washington. He and his spouse loved entertaining, and in retirement they traveled extensively and he collected wine. After his wife’s most cancers analysis in 2014, he grew to become a stay at residence caregiver till her dying in 2020.
She was a cofounder of Climate Action Now in Western Mass. and participated in marches and demonstrations towards oil pipelines transporting fracked gasoline via the state. She also opposed the creation of a biomass plant in Springfield. As a physician, she spoke usually at Northampton and Springfield metropolis council and state home conferences, opposing air and water pollution.
He is survived by his wife, Betsy; two sons; a sister-in-law; a brother-in-law, and a quantity of other nieces and nephews. Kenneth O. Beal ’63, of Newbury, N.H., formerly of Cambridge, Mass., and Portland, Me.; Feb. 13 were kidding ourselves workers well, after suffering a stroke. In 1970 he moved to Portland, the place he supervised the conversion of the Portland School Department’s information, grading, and scheduling.
He was concerned on the town organizations, together with serving as president of the ABC House, treasurer of the Simsbury Rotary, and treasurer of the Powder Forest Homes. He enjoyed gardening, classical music, taking part in bridge, tennis and spending as a lot time as he may with his family. He is survived by his spouse, Linda; three sons; a daughter-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. He was active in New York real property and served as president of the National Realty Club. He was a board member of Temple Israel, Lenox School, and the Glaucoma Foundation. He was an amateur photographer and enjoyed classical music.
He later labored as an engineer for Kontro, Inc. (Mass.) before retiring. After having raced quite lots of sports vehicles with the SCCA, he constructed his own race automotive and competed efficiently in each California and various tracks in New England. In retirement, he worked at the Yankee Candle Car Museum and worked as an orientation specialist at Northampton Senior Fitness Center. He was an active member of College Church for greater than 36 years, where he served as an elder and hosted weekly Bible research in his house.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; two daughters; a son; a daughter-in-law; a son-in-law; 4 grandchildren; two brothers; and a variety of other nieces and nephews. Jeffrey B. Sawyer ’81, of St. Louis Park, Minn.; Jan. 17. He practiced for greater than 30 years, specializing in addiction, mind-body drugs, and integrative health. In addition to providing care at a quantity of hospitals and clinics throughout his career, he additionally operated a personal practice. He loved practical jokes, music, images, traveling, snowboarding, fishing, and looking. He is survived by his wife, Karli; three kids; and two cousins.
After retiring from energetic obligation, he returned to his aviation roots as a civilian simulator instructor coaching naval flight students. He is survived by his companion Marty Reynolds; two daughters; a daughter-in-law; and 5 grandchildren. Robert P. Watelet ’54, of West Hatfield, Mass.; Apr. 13, after a quick sickness. After graduating with a mechanical engineering diploma, he labored in numerous area company packages.
